Monsoon Wishlist!

July 13, 2015

The monsoon has finally set in Hyderabad! Summer didn’t seem that severe this year but nonetheless the cool evening breeze and the fresh smell of the earth after a heavy rain is always welcome! This is exactly what I love about this city! From June onwards until summer again next year, evenings are super pleasant and perfect!

A change in weather always means a change in your wardrobe! The past few months I have been so busy with work that I haven’t even felt like shopping! And since that status had to be changed immediately, I started browsing all my favorite websites for new collections. It was then that I came across shopalike, a one-stop shop for all shopping websites. They’ve got jabong, koovs, snapdeal, amazon, limeroad and more. But really, I don’t need anything else! These are the websites that I shop from most frequently.

I always find myself hopping from one website to another, searching for better products and better deals when trying to put together a look. But having them all under one major site makes it so much easier to curate and put together a head to toe look. When it comes monsoons, it is always comfort first, and comfort over everything else!

Take a peek at the three looks I’ve put together keeping in mind the humid, frizzy-hair weather that we have to face.

Look 1:

Dull grey dreary weather calls for the brightest of clothes. So when the sky turns grey, and thunderstorms are rolling in, and you don’t have the luxury or curling up in a blanket, brighten your mood with this cheerful outfit. I love pairing outfits with bright umbrellas in colorful prints. An ankle length jumpsuit in bright green and yellow, paired with comfortable jelly shoes. These shoes shall be your saviors during rainy season. Easy to clean and dry even if you step in puddles, and they go with everything!

Look 2:

Who says you need keep your whites all locked up when it rains? At least as long as you don’t have too much walking to do or you don’t spend too much time outdoors, there’s no harm in taking your little white dress out for a spin. Also this is the time to take out your pair of wellingtons or gumboots. Pair it with tall rain boots, and a cute sling bag and you are good to go!

Look 3:

Looks like crop tops are still here to stay. Shorts and crop tops – they are as perfect for a rainy day as they are for the summer! Add a pair of bright and colorful flats to complete the outfit. There’s not doubt that flats are your best friends for a rainy day. Be it for a movie or for work or for carefully navigating your way through puddle filled streets, they make sure you stay comfortable and stylish!
