My second day was actually a Sunday. Which meant I could sample the infamous Sunday brunch at The Pondicherry Cafe in Sofitel. They have a live kitchen as well and I didn’t waste any time digging in! The Sunday Brunch consists of 40 dishes from around the world. If you are visiting Sofitel, this is one thing that you must not miss at any cost!
Post that I went for a stroll exploring the hotel. The hotel has three restaurants, a cafe and a bar in total. Jyran – the Tandoor dining and lounge, offers some of the richest varieties of Biriyani from around India. Jyran, which means ‘lost love’ in Persian, captures the essence of poetic beauty in its decor, environment and music. The second restaurant Tuskers – is a vegetarian dining bar for select eaters. It is a pure veg restaurant with an irresistible South Indian breakfast. They also have something called ‘Tiffin from Tuskers’ where they bring pure veg delicacies, home-cooked style straight to your office!
If you are looking to live the authentic Parisienne life, visit Artisan for their chocolate making, house-smoked charcuterie, freshly backed breads and cheese giving that feeling of a French delicatessen in the heart of Mumbai. They have irresistible home made pickles, jams, macaroons, chocolates and more.
They also have fun chocolate making sessions, chocolate drinks with Mexican churros, and array of exotic flavored chocolates! As they say, “9 out of 10 people like chocolate, and the 10th one is lying!” An extension of their ambience, they have the Jazz and Blue lounge, where you can enjoy some of the best music in town with innovative cocktails, wines, sangrias and some treats! The neon and LED lights along with the Jazz music are quite a treat!
Le Bar Diamantaire, the lobby bar, has to be my most favorite part of the hotel, PURELY for its looks. A special wine tower holds the center of attraction and the bar is truly designed with stunning detail and sense of style. It has an intimate cozy feeling and that feeling is further elevated by two pods that provide exclusive, mid air seating for a private rendezvous while enjoying an incredible view of The Pondicherry Cafe.
Once I was done with the tour, I went back to my room to freshen up and head to my 12pm appointment at SoSpa. I was greeted by their friendly staff again and we sat down to discuss what today’s treatment was going to be like. For today I went for an Ayurvedic Chic massage. It’s basically a full body massage but exclusively with Ayurvedic oils that relieve muscle tension, restore energy and improve vitality.
The oils that were used, were really therapeutic and I couldn’t have felt more refreshed! I had the whole day to myself, and although I wanted to do so many things, I was exhausted after two consecutive treatments. I caught up on some work and ordered lunch meanwhile. Did I tell you how helpful and awesome their customer service is? Right from the bellboys to the waiters, everyone always had a smile on their lips.
In the evening, it was time to hit the pool! I honestly cannot remember the last time my mind and body felt so relaxed and refreshed. For once I was not thinking about work or my personal life and I just let my mind wander as I sat by pool.
After spending almost 2-3 hours at the pool, I called it an early night with some coffee and cookies in bed.
Overall the stay was amazing, the spa world class and the entire staff extremely helpful.
