Wedding planning with Khazana Jewellery

July 5, 2016

I’ve always been a private person and have never been too enthusiastic about sharing personal details on my blog. It’s a constant battle of trying to find a balance between sharing your happiness with your readers and wondering whether you are over-sharing and putting too much of your life out there.

While I haven’t made any public announcements on the blog or social media, some of you might already know that I am getting married soon! The story of who, when and how will have to wait, while we get to the real important part of any girl’s wedding, which is the planning and the shopping! Planning a wedding is no easy task when there are so many aspects to consider. The location, the guest lists, trying to consider your parents’ requests, in-law’s requests, and planning your outfit and jewellery can quickly make the situation stressful and overwhelming.

Clothing and jewellery shopping is a task that is usually considered a long process, and something that brides-to-be start planning many months before. But it doesn’t have to be that stressful if you know where to look. Khazana jewellery has been a household name since many years. Being part of a typical South Indian family, the responsibility of buying gold and dealing with heavy jewellery was always on the grandmothers and aunts at home. Although I’d visited the store a couple of times, I’d never paid much attention to the jewellery.

But you reach a certain stage in life and then you can’t stop researching on the perfect diamond ring, googling wedding jewellery designs and pinning all your favorite jewellery pictures, all the while planning for your Big Day. So with my newly discovered enthusiasm for gold jewellery and bridal shopping, I decided to visit Khazana to check out their bridal collection that I was hearing so much about. I didn’t have too many expectations and so I was pleasantly surprised with the variety that they had. Whether you are someone who prefers delicate, light jewellery or something that is heavy and intricate, they’ve got it all.

My first tip for all your bride-to-be’s when it comes to shopping for jewellery is to have an open mind and a lot of patience. I started off with trying out their temple jewellery. Inspired by temple art and architecture, they are a perfect option to make a statement while still looking traditional. I personally feel that they add a very royal, old-world charm to your look. Next I explored tons of jhumkas and I must say I was in love! Such intricate designs and stonework, I would definitely wear these for every function!

When it comes to bridal jewellery you can either go the minimal route with a statement choker or layer necklaces to create a stunning look. Their collection of uncut diamond and gold necklaces were the perfect options to try layering. The rows of gold beads with the intricately designed peacock pendant were my favorite.

The showstopper was definitely the diamond choker necklace with a blood red ruby in the middle. The piece was stunning not only in terms of design and craftsmanship but it is also created keeping in mind the diverse requirements of customers. Everything is customization, and can be lengthened, shortened to suit your requirements. And if the hoards of people walking in and out constantly were any indication, it was obvious that the choice and options that were present were simply too many!

After about 3-4 hours of playing bridal-dress-up to my heart’s content (every girl’s dream!), I finally chose a few pieces that I really loved!

So stay tuned for my next post where I’ll show you how you can style your wedding jewelry and what to keep in mind while doing so.
