I just wrote an entire post about how my hair’s been having mood swings this entire week and how it now closely resembles a bird’s nest. Because I am subjecting it to the terribly hot outdoor temperature and freezing cold air conditioned indoors alternatively. Also thanks to the overall dry weather. I wrote about two paragraphs, went back to read it, and then I fell asleep. So am going to spare you guys the story. I am pretty sure I also wrote something about shampoo wars. Or maybe I dreamt that. Never mind!I have another post sitting in my drafts since weeks. I am just waiting for a perfect outfit shoot to accompany those words. You know, because that makes perfect sense. Do any of you girls do that? Write a post and then shoot an outfit according to it? If you do then mail me. We’d be best friends.
I am having the hardest time trying to style this grey polka dot dress. I tried a lot of different combinations until I was forced to give up ‘coz I was running late. At least I got dressed. Step one is complete.

If you really struggled with styling that dress, it doesn't show. Solid colours are reliably a good offset for a pattern, so your leggings and belt work very nicely to highlight the polka-dots. And I agree with previous commenters; your pendant is particularly lovely.
And while you asked “the girls” about shooting an outfit to match a post, I hope you won't mind my offering an answer. At my blog The Fashionoclast (www.fashionoclast.com), my partner Becky and I have Frivolous Friday challenges in which we set a theme and then endeavour to dress accordingly…naturally, readers are encouraged to partipate and be featured in a post. It's not quite the same as what you're asking, but the underlying idea is: come up with an idea then figure out the outfit that goes with it. It's a good approach to use from time to time. Instead of getting lost in endless possibilities, the restriction helps focus one's creativity in a productive direction – something that's true, I think, for many artistic and creative endeavours.
BTW, I've been reading your blog for a short while now; I very much enjoy your style and creativity. Cheers!
Nice accessories!
you look lovely! I love your dress!
I can totally understand your 'shampoo wars'. I have them too some days! 🙂
I think you styled the polka dotted dress really well. I so love it!

Yes, I think we are soul mates. I struggled to style my polka dot skirt yesterday and I have to unpublished posts with no photos! Your tie as belt is cute, though!

Concerning your comment on my blog, haha yes, here we have four distinct seasons, and they might have a different rhythm than you have!

Cute look! X
Hair Woes..I so understand!! Summers are friendly with my hair but the 'humidity' phase plays havoc.
i feel like screaming from roof tops “People its the humidity”
I guess I unconsciously try and maintain a balance between what I wear and what I write. Sometimes I know what i have to write and come up with an outfit to match the same and sometimes the other way round. I do agree with one of your readers that the former is an actual test of 'stylist' creativity 🙂
Polka dots look super cute..and I think pink is the perfect shade to compliment them with..So you are finally loving pink :p
Caught up on your previous posts..great pieces!!
Although the dress looks just as cute with pink tights, it would look just as fab on its own:-)
love the polka dot dress!! polka dot is really everywhere!!
I don't write much in my posts so I usually shoot the outfit first then say a blurb about it…I do sometimes get a Shakespeare quote in my head that I want to use for a title then try and find an outfit to match that 🙂 This grey polka dot dress is adorable! The pink belt makes it even more so. And that explains my hair misshaps…it's moody just like me 🙂

You look so summery Chandana! I love the dress – I've kept all my leggings and jeans away because it is just too damn hot to wear them anymore!
