Her Looks

Loose Fit

August 3, 2017

There is this common misconception that clothing always has to be extremely snug for it to look chic. And that, that’s the only way to look chic. People on the slimmer side assume that anything that is loose will make them look like they are drowning in clothes. So the tighter the better. I’ve never been someone who is a fan of skin tight clothing. It’s a free country, and you can dress up the way you want, but to pull it off and still look classy & stylish is a slight challenge. Apart from that, I am a fan of letting my skin breathe, and I feel clothing that hugs my body super tight doesn’t allow my skin to breathe.

We’ve all seen the anti-fit craze that took over a couple of years back. Shift dresses have been a popular option for their free style and zero discomfort since ages. Sometimes just letting a piece of clothing hang on your body and take whatever the hell shape it wants to take, feels like a really good thing. We all have days when we are fed of looking put together right? Which is why the whole athleisure, anti-fit, pyjamas as clothing trends came up in the first place. That fashion has to be uncomfortable, is a ridiculous thought process, and am glad we have come a long way from having to wear corsets that crush our lungs into oblivion.

Loose doesn’t have to mean ill-fitting, and to illustrate my point, I picked two pieces from my wardrobe that were way too big in size for me, paired them together and made them work. All I needed to add was a belt to cinch my waist, and usually that’s all you need when dressing up in any outfit. One little detail that would pull together (in this case literally), the entire outfit!
