Favourite products from my Sunday skincare routine

February 8, 2021

I did a little purge by going through my entire skincare collection and threw away a lot of old and expired products. To be honest, I have been extremely lazy about my skincare regimen, and haven’t followed a proper routine since more than a year. Guilty!

The last couple of days have been tiring – I didn’t sleep well and was more less cranky and irritable throughout the day. So this Sunday I decided to take a complete break, indulge in a 3 hour pampering session for my skin and body, cook some good food at home, eat and take a nap.

These are some of the products I’m currently using, and they have been working for me since many years. They are all almost finished, so I’m eager to buy some more new products that will help my skin and start a fresh new regimen. Until then, here’s the list!

Step 1

VLCC’s sandal cleansing milk is one my favourite ones in the market and I have been using this since many years. It smells great, the consistency is not oily, and it is great for sensitive skin. I apply a small amount into my skin, and then massage for a few minutes using the rose quartz roller on my face and neck. I started using the roller only recently and I absolutely love it so far! You can use the roller without any products or even after using a moisturiser/serum on your face.

Step 2

I absolutely love this face scrub from Lacura naturals. Lacura is a German beauty brand and I got this from my sister in Australia (not sure if you can get this anywhere in India). Its a cruelty free brand and has a lot of vegan products as well. It smells heavenly, and the scrub is neither too harsh not light on your skin. I use this at least three times a week. Himalaya is again my go-to brand for their formulation for sensitive skins. I love their aloe vera face wash and it’s something I’ve been using since many years as well.

Buy: Lacura naturals Pore cleansing facial scrub, Himalaya aloe vera face wash

Step 3

Juicy chemistry is another brand whose products I love, This 100% organic aloe vera face mask has also been in my vanity since a long time. I add a little rose water to it, and some plain water before applying. It leaves your skin super soft and moisturised. I’m not sure if this product is in stock anywhere, but listing another one that is equally good.

Buy: Juicy chemistry face mask, Just herbs steam distilled rose water mist

Step 4

I got both theses Iba cosmetics products in a PR package. I like the toner quite a bit and have been using it regularly. The Skin glow serum is also quite good, but it hasn’t made much of a visible difference in my skin. But then again, I haven’t been very regular with using it either. I like that it is a vegan and cruelty free brand with no harsh chemicals. Don’t want to throw this away, so I’m going to finish using it. Although I have no major complaints with it, I still think I’m going to try out some other toners out there and alternate between using both.

Buy: Iba Halal Care Advanced Activs Crystal Clear Aloe Vera Serum Toner, Iba Halal Care Advanced Activs Youth Preserve Skin Glow Power Serum

Step 5

I love so many products from Soul tree. After using a serum, I usually put on just a moisturiser. If I’m heading out, I add sunscreen as well. This is my second tube of Jovees sunscreen, it’s pocket friendly and not at all greasy. Quite like how it smells and feels on my skin!

Buy: Soul tree Apricot moisturiser, Jovees sunscreen

Step 6

Keratin treatment and Keratin products have been doing wonders for my hair! This Oliology Keratin oil hair mask was again given to me by my sister from Australia, it’s also available on amazon, but is definitely on the pricier side. Might have to check for other alternatives once I’m done with this. For my hair, it’s always been good old parachute ever since I was a kid. I also love Himalaya for hair oil, but for now this aloe vera enriched coconut oil works perfectly for me!

Step 7

I don’t remember where I got this, probably in another PR package but I absolutely love this body scrub. It doesn’t have a strong fragrance but exfoliates really well. I use this as an entire body scrub and it leaves you skin really soft and smooth. It’s also available on amazon!

Buy: Orly Rich Renewal Exfoliating Scrub, Pretty

Step 8

Nykaa has some really good products that I love using since it’s a home grown brand. If I’m mostly at home, I use a light body mist instead of a deo. Since I love lavender, this wanderlust French lavender fragrance mist is one of my absolute favourites and smells heavenly. Just a few spritzes and I’m good to go!

What are some of your go-to brands and products for skincare? Do share and I would love to try them out, and include them in my next list!
