Romance – a word that’s attributed to feelings, situations and even clothing. What comes to your mind when we talk about a ‘romantic vibe’ or a ‘bohemian vibe’? We often project feelings and emotions onto inanimate objects like clothing and that’s where the whole concept of expressing yourself and your personality through clothes comes from. Like every other style blogger one of the most frequent questions that gets thrown at me is to ‘define my style’. Style, just like your moods and your personality, keeps evolving. If you have a creative bent of mind it is ever changing, always evolving and can hardly be put into a single category. But at the same time there are certain definitions based on certain ideas and principles that segment this beautiful, chaotic industry of fashion into various categories. It’s always interesting to observe what people perceive the definition to be and how much of it is influenced by the industry insiders.
For me romance has always been perceived to be something delicate, feminine and dainty. I subconsciously projected the same feeling when it came to styling this look for a casual day out. Another pretty Anouk maxi dress via Klozee – India’s first fashion rental website, that’s like your savior in so many ways – when you need an outfit at the last moment, when you want to try out a new style but don’t want to splurge and pay the full price and when buying an outfit for a one time occasion makes no sense (The original price of the dress was Rs.2700 which I got for just Rs.369) Trying to find a location to shoot at before I headed out, we made the sudden discovery of a perfect location that went with the outfit, right in our backyard. Sometimes you really don’t have to look far for perfection.
