Dussera is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The whole ten days are filled with lots of celebrations, family visits, pujas and let’s not forget – shopping! It was my first Dussehra after marriage, so the festival had a lot of significance. This time I decided to do all my shopping at Max Fashion India (www.maxfashion.in), from their newly launched festive wear collection at their AS Rao Nagar Store in Hyderabad. I’ve been shopping from Max since my college days, and it has been my go-to brand for comfortable and chic clothing.
The festive collection this time, did not disappoint at all. My favorite palazzos were back in stock this time, in plenty more colors and prints. I think palazzos make the perfect festive wear as they can be teamed up with long and short kurtis. The variety at the Max AS Rao Nagar store was endless and what stood out the most was how fearlessly they had played around with colors and prints, offering the best and brightest hues for festive wear.
The Tavisha Occasion Wear collection was inspired by paithani prints and mica prints, specially the anarkalis and the crop jackets which I absolutely loved! For a festival like Dussehra, people usually opt for outfits that are very traditional looking. The fuchsia colors, deep emeralds, bright reds are colors that are very typically ‘Telugu’. They are colors that you see on traditional sarees and langa vonis. It was nice that the same was presented in this collection, except on modern silhouettes that would appeal to the trendy & stylish section of customers.
I tried on a few options, and some of my favorites were from the Tavisha collection. The pastel colored cream anarkali with the fuchsia print dupatta, and the bright red palazzos with the short kurti were two of my absolute favorites. I can easily see myself wearing these for various festive occasions.
But the final outfit that I picked for my Dussehra celebrations was this pink and gold lehenga with a golden mustard crop top. I paid a visit to the famous Laxmi Narayan Swami and Uma Maheshwar Swami twin temples to start my day off on a good note. I threw on a matching a striking purple dupatta to make my outfit more temple appropriate. The same outfit catered to my second look at home, as I continued with the celebrations. A few flowers in my hair, and a few in my hand, to decorate the house with muggus and flowers, and I was ready to bring in the festivities!
