Comfort has always come first for me when it comes to styling looks. And the most important aspect of styling a look for me is the shoes. Shoes can make or break an entire outfit, and uncomfortable shoes can break your feet too! I make sure to invest only in brands that have extremely comfortable footwear. With the amount of time I spend walking around, standing for hours while shooting etc., it’s important to take care of my feet and make sure they are getting the style and comfort that they deserve.
Happenstance is one such brand that takes the science of comfort very seriously!
I got two pairs to try out, and both are extremely comfortable. When I first opened the box and felt the shoes, I knew the material was going to be really stretchy. The shoes bent in my hand easily without losing their shape at all. The soles felt pretty thick and soft on the feet, which is what we all want when we spend so much time on our feet!
The first pair I got was the LOLA – seafoam shoes, which were extremely light weight, and like I already mentioned – very flexible. It fit perfectly well for a closed shoe without any bite on the toes or the heel. So no more bandages across the heel the next day, or any weird hacks to break in the new shoes! I paired this versatile neutral colour with a denim skirt, bright tee and bright knee length socks. The socks add a perfect touch to this winter outfit, and the shoes fit super snug with the socks on. I tried them on without socks as well, just to test the level of comfort. The material is very stretchy and there was no pinching anywhere. It fits the contour of my foot perfectly!
The second pair is the MAX – Ruby sandals which again is the kind of casual sandals that you can pair with just about anything. The sole offers great arch support and bounce, but at the same time they are light weight enough to wear throughout the day. This was definitely my favourite pair! The cushy sole combined with the velcro straps make for a comfortable fit, and I felt they are almost as good as any walking/running shoe. I could definitely hop, skip and jump without my heels getting hurt at all.
Overall, I loved the fact that they used various technologies to bring about as much comfort as possible to your feet. I can see myself using these pairs again and again, on a daily basis and especially on all my travels because that’s when comfortable shoes matter the most!
