Staycation at Daspalla Hyderabad

June 6, 2017

Some of you might know that I started a new instagram account called Stucktogether.

It all goes back to a day in April 2015, when I ‘gifted’ a blog named StuckTogether to (my now husband) Kalyan. During a random phone conversation about our future, we jokingly decided that it was too late to back out as we were ‘stuck together’ for life. The phrase somehow stayed with us, and I had this idea of creating a blog where we could document something about ourselves. When I showed it to the boy, he said why don’t we make it about our life’s journey.

So, June 2nd was the mister’s birthday and June 3rd was our 6 month wedding anniversary. Since we only need the teeniest excuse to jump at the chance of going on a vacation, this was a bumper bonanza for us. After much research on all the resorts and hotels in Hyderabad, we picked Daspalla, Hyderabad for a weekend STAYCATION. Here are some of the things we loved!

Roof Top Pool

One of the main reasons for us to pick this place was the roof top pool. And it did not disappoint. Situated on the 8th floor of the hotel, the pool is away from all prying eyes and is very secluded. It offers a view of the entire city. Even on a busy weekend, there was no crowd and it really felt like our very own private pool. The only downside is that there is a lot of noise from the exhaust fans of the hotel which are also situated on the roof top. But once you dive into the water, I hardly doubt you would notice that!

A lounge, a pub, a coffee shop & a restaurant all in one place

This is specially useful for those coming over from another city. Over the moon is a well known pub in hyderabad, which is open till the wee hours of morning. Or if you are more in the mood for just sitting down with a couple of drinks while listening to some live jazz music, you can head to Aqua Spirit lounge. There is also a restaurant and a coffee shop which covers everything from South Indian, North Indian to continental food. They also keep having some amazing offers so you can keep a look out for those

Affordable

We ordered a chocolate shake only to realize that it was cheaper than the one we order at our usual coffee shop. The buffet lunch which was absolutely delicious was just 350 bucks on a weekend. Where do you get food like that? For a four star hotel they are pretty affordable and the same time haven’t compromised on quality or luxury

Amazing South Indian food

Our stay coincided with the Telangana food festival that was going on. At first both of us were grumpy at the thought of same ‘ol South Indian food which we have at home everyday. But oh my god, was it delicious or what! We alternated between the two restaurants in the hotel for lunch and dinner. Both circles (which serves north Indian, and continental) and Coffee times (where the food festival was going on) had really really really good food. The only sad part was that we missed breakfast on both the days

Excellent WIFI

We all know this is the first second thing (first is the bathroom!) that we check in a hotel. Compared to a lot of other places that we have stayed at, this one had excellent wifi. Always appreciated!

This was definitely a staycation that we thoroughly enjoyed! Keep a watch for more new posts!
