Last week I had a chance to visit Goa during it’s beautiful monsoon season! While most people advice against going in the monsoons, I simply loved it! If you are looking for a quiet-er version of Goa, then July-September is the perfect time to go. Yes we were worried about how the rains would affect our daily schedule but we needn’t have worried too much! The rain gods decided to be a little kind and we managed to have a fabulous time without getting caught in the rain.
The first three nights were spent near Anjuna, at the hotel Meraden Opus which was booked through OYO rooms. OYO is known for having budget hotels and our main criteria was to stay at a place as close to the beach as possible. Inspite of it being off-season, all the beach front properties that we found around Anjuna were booked. But OYO team managed to get us a place that was a walkable distance from the beach, although we ended up renting a bike.
Arjuna cafe is 2minute walk from here, with plenty of healthy and yummy breakfast options. You can even browse the store at Arjuna although most of the stuff is overprice and is mainly there to attract the foreign crowd. They have a lot of healthy food options and you can sit here for hours just reading a book and sipping on freshly squeezed fruit juices.
Curlies and Cafe Lilliput are a 10 min walk from the hotel. My suggestion would be to rent a bike at the hotel itself (for Rs.300 per day) as that’s more convenient. Check out the video for more!
