Last month I had worked with Label Ritu Kumar on putting together a series of three posts with their latest spring/summer collection. I happened to visit the store in Hyderabad and fell in love with so many of their pieces. The colorful kaftans and maxi dresses had me thinking about exotic beach locales. How I wish I lived in a place with a beach, if only to wear and style clothes for the place! Being a huge beach bum, there is nothing more I would love to dress in every single day than ‘beach fashion’. As I was browsing through the collection I could see that they had a really good range of clothing that included both western, fusion and Indian, so I decided to do three looks, one on each theme. This pretty orange dress beckoned to me from a corner in the store. Like I mentioned previously as well, orange is a color that I am automatically drawn to in the summers. The fabric is so light and fluid that moving around in it is a dream!
I centered the entire look around these gorgeous long earrings from Pipa Bella. The gold tassels added to the movement of the look, swinging each time I took a step. From the time the LABEL collection has been launched, it has been synonymous with the image of a young, global Indian woman leading a contemporary lifestyle. I can very well see myself wearing this to a beach or a pool party, by dressing it down a bit. To pull the entire look together and make it pop, I added a bit of color with a purple sling bag.
The collection, if it had to be described in one word, I would say is colorful! From kaftans, to embellished maxi dresses to printed co-ordinates and wide legged jumpsuits, they have pieces that cater to every occasion. One of my most loved pieces is a gorgeous maxi skirt in the most dreamy shade of cream, which you shall see the next post. Meanwhile take a look at the pictures and don’t forget to drop by any of the Ritu Kumar stores to check out the Label collection!
